Dental health
The general aim of oral health is to maintain healthy teeth from the very beginning until old age.
The prevention and early detection of dental diseases and malocclusions is therefore given absolute priority in dental care.
The paediatric and adolescent dental service of the Office for Health and Prevention
- visits day-care centres, schools and support facilities and offers dental check-ups,
- looks after and advises children with an increased risk of tooth decay, children with disabilities and children and their parents who are unwilling to undergo treatment as part of a dental consultation,
- carries out group prophylactic measures for dental and oral hygiene in schools,
- coordinates group prophylactic care for children and young people in the city of Chemnitz
- advises citizens on dental issues
Lending for group prophylaxis
The paediatric and adolescent dental service lends free materials for projects on the topic of teeth to nursery teachers, teachers and day-care staff. Together with the children, you can creatively discover the oral cavity and learn a lot about our teeth as sugar detectives and toothbrushing professionals.
Multipliers who work with adults are also welcome to borrow illustrative material.
